Syfy To Provide Global 'Haven'

Syfy has given safe haven to Haven, a drama series bases on Stephen King novella The Colorado Kid.
The first series to be produced for Syfy Pay Channels globally, sans Scandinavia and Canada, the network has ordered 13 episodes from E1 Entertainment, which, as part of the deal, will distribute it internationally.
Production is expected to begin early next year, with an anticipated premiere later in 2010.
The series follows the goings on in the town of Haven, Maine, where residents have their supernatural abilities muted. However, when FBI agent Audrey Parker is called in to solve a murder, the mystery begins to unravel.
"Haven is the quintessential Stephen King town, full of complex, yet identifiable, characters and compelling supernatural situations," said Syfy executive vice president of programming Mark Stern in a statement. "We also couldn't be more excited to partner with our international Syfy channels and be in business with E1 who will definitely deliver the high-quality production value we expect."
