Syfy will adapt the Arthur C. Clarke sci-fi novel 3001: The Final Odyssey into a miniseries, said network officials.
Ridley Scott along with Stuart Beattie (Pirates Of the Caribbean)and Clayton Krueger will serve as executive producers for the miniseries, a sequel to Academy Award winning movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (pictured).
3001: The Final Odyssey is the second Clarke novel to be turned into a Syfy project following the greenlighting of Childhood’s End, said network officials.
“Arthur C. Clarke is the father of modern science fiction,” said Syfy President Dave Howe in a statement. “We couldn’t be more excited to be working with Scott Free and Warner Horizon Television to bring to the screen, for the very first time, the final chapter of this extraordinary masterpiece.”
