Sylvester Leaves Vubiquity for CEO Role

Doug Sylvester, formerly the president of Vubiquity’s Americas division, has been named CEO of CAPS, a technology payroll company that serves the entertainment industry.

Sylvester succeeds Eric Capogrosso , who is retiring. Capogrosso will stay on in a consulting role with CAPS  through the end of 2015, retain an ownership stake in CAPS, and remain active on its board of directors, the company said.

Multiscreen video specialist Vubiquity does not have immediate plans to hire a replacement for Sylvester, an exec who is also late of E!, New Line Cinema and IFILM. “Doug is pursuing an opportunity to lead a privately-held software company,” Vubiquity said, in a statement. “He remains a terrific colleague and friend of VU.  We wish him well and thank him for his contributions to the growth of the company.”

“With an unwavering focus on technology and service excellence, CAPS has distinguished itself in the industry,” Sylvester said in a statement.  “I’m very excited about the opportunity to lead this dynamic organization, and look forward to working with Eric and the team to realize the company’s next phase of growth.”

CAPS specializes in providing entertainment payroll services, covering areas such as film and television, music tours, venues and festivals and live events.
