San Ramon, Calif.-AT & T Corp. has expanded the availability of digital local phone service to six more Northern California communities.
The phone service has been launched over the company's cable systems in Corte Madera, Fairfax, Lagunitas, Ross, San Anselmo and Woodacre.
Phone service is available to noncable customers, as well, and AT & T is launching the service with free installation. That charge can range up to $120. Further, the company offers customers 25 percent off their bills if they subscribe to multiple lines.
Local phone service was previously available only in Fremont, Livermore, Pleasanton, Dublin, San Ramon, Berkeley and Pleasant Hill.
