T. Howard Seeks Symonds’ Successor

The T. Howard Foundation has officially begun its search for a new executive director.

Curtis Symonds is leaving the nonprofit organization -- aimed at increasing opportunities for women and minorities in the entertainment media, technology and distribution industries -- to become chief operating officer of the Women’s National Basketball Association’s Washington Mystics.

T. Howard also announced that a record-setting number of former T. Howard Foundation interns were hired by many leading media companies including Comedy Central, Court TV, ESPN, Oxygen Media Inc. and Turner Network Sales Inc.

“Curtis has done a magnificent job in his tenure with T. Howard,” T. Howard founder and chairman and Speakeasy Inc. president Scott Weiss said in a prepared statement. “We thank him greatly for his efforts and wish him all the best with the Mystics.”

Weiss continued, “The foundation has improved in both its breadth and depth as a result of Curtis' efforts and the efforts of the talented foundation team. As a result, we are optimistic that we will find the right person to continue our successful mission and provide the overall vision, leadership and motivation needed to further the organization's goals.”
