Taking the Gospel Digital

Gospel Music Channel created a new digital-content group that will be headed up by Justin Williams, former director of business development for Cartoon Network.

Janice Moore, senior vice president of marketing, said Williams will be based in Atlanta.

Gospel plans to develop into a multiplatform content brand, offering fans of gospel music a multimedia home that extends the 24-hour cable network’s reach.

As senior director for Internet and new media, Williams will oversee digital-content development, including the network’s Web site (www.gospelmusicchannel.com) and future products such as mobile-phone downloads, broadband video and video-on-demand.

Nashville, Tenn.-based echomusic LLC will help to develop and execute the network’s convergence strategy for TV and online properties. Gospel is scheduled to relaunch its site later this month.
