TBS Gives Greenlight to 'Search Party'

TBS has given the greenlight to a new comedy series Search Party, the network said Monday.

The series, about a group of four self-absorbed 20-somethings who come together after a former college acquaintance mysteriously disappears, stars Alia Shawkat (Arrested Development), according to TBS.

The network will launch the series in 2016 across its linear, digital and mobile platforms.

The pilot was written and directed by Sarah-Violet Bliss and Charles Rogers and overseen by Michael Showalter (Wet Hot American Summer), with Tony Hernandez (Broad City, Inside Amy Schumer, Louie) and Lilly Burns (Broad City) as executive producers, alongside Rogers and Bliss.

"Sarah-Violet, Charles, Michael and this fantastic cast of comedians have truly hit on the glory and utter misery of early adulthood," said Brett Weitz, executive vice president of original programming for TBS in a statement. "Search Party is a carefully observed, blunt comedy for people who are testing out who they are and who they strive to be."
