TBS Renews ‘The Misery Index’

TBS has renewed its comedy game show The Misery Index for a second season, the network said Tuesday.

The series, inspired by the card game Sh*t Happens, rewards contestants based on other people’s misfortunes, according to the network. The series reached nearly 28 million viewers across linear, VOD and digital platforms, according to TBS.

The Misery Index host Jameela Jamil will return along with stars of truTV’s Impractical Jokers, comedy troupe The Tenderloins – Brian Quinn, James Murray, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano – as panelists, said the network.

"Jameela and The Tenderloins have wholeheartedly translated the most miserable of mishaps into absolute amusement, giving the audience and contestants permission to be entertained by these misfortunes,” said Brett Weitz, general manager for TNT, TBS, & truTV in a statement. “We couldn't be more excited to continue our relationship with these five brilliantly talented comedians."
