TBS Superstation announced Wednesday that it will promote its "College
Football on TBS" coverage on Saturdays, when Sony Corp.'s PlayStation will be
the title sponsor of "Big PlayStation Saturday."
Media elements in the promotion campaign will include the usual on-air promos
across all of the Turner networks; national print (such as ESPN-The
Magazine); cable buys on ESPN, FX, MTV: Music Television, Comedy Central and
others; spot radio in 15 markets; outdoor; and America Online Inc.
In addition, an unconventional buy will encompass "talking bathroom signage"
during September in one-dozen markets -- among them Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Los
Angeles and Las Vegas -- TBS and Turner Network Television senior vice president
of sports marketing and programming Jeff Gregor said.
Sony PlayStation has signed as the title sponsor of Big PlayStation Saturday,
which will include not only TBS' college-football season, involving Pacific 10
and Big 12 campuses, but also TBS' postgame movies.
The campaign breaks the week of Aug. 25 and continues through the network’s
11-game grid season.
