TBS, TNT Launch App on Xbox One, Eye Debut on Select Smart TVs

TBS and TNT are streaming to some new, key platforms with TV Everywhere apps launching on the Xbox One console and slated for smart TVs from Vizio and Sony later this month.

Turner noted that the Xbox One is the first gaming console to support apps from TBS and TNT.

Those authenticated TVE apps are supported by several MVPDs, including AT&T, Charter Communications, Comcast, Cox Communications, DirecTV, Dish Network, Altice, and Verizon, among others.

Cartoon Network, CNN and truTV are among nets in the Turner roster that have also introduced apps for the Xbox One and select smart TV platforms.

“By making our programming available on Xbox One, we’re growing our connection with younger, heavy video and entertainment consumers, who are a key target demo for our hit shows and are using gaming consoles as their primary path to television content,” Karina Kogan, senior vice president of digital media and products for TBS & TNT, said in a statement. “The end goal is to create the most frictionless viewing experience that connects viewers to our brands however, whenever and wherever they want.”
