TBS hit a ratings home run with its coverage of the Major League Baseball Divisional Series playoff games, winning cable's weekly primetime and total day ratings races for the first time this year.
Led by its Game 5 coverage of the Philadelphia Phillies-St. Louis Cardinals and the New York Yankees-Detroit Tigers series, TBS averaged 5.1 million viewers in primetime for the week of Oct. 3 to Oct. 9 to top all ad-supported basic cable networks, according to a Disney-ABC Television Group analysis of Nielsen data.

Disney Channel finished second for the week with 2.8 million viewers, followed by USA Network's 2.6 million viewers and ESPN's 2.5 million viewers.

FX (1.91 million), Fox News (1.90 million); History (1.5 million); TNT (1.4 million); Syfy (1.3 million) and A&E Network (1.2 million) rounded out the top 10 most watched networks for the week.

TBS also topped all cable networks on a 24-hour basis, dethroning Nickelodeon - which finished second - for the first time since the week of Oct. 5, 2009. Disney, USA Network and Adult Swim followed closely behind according to Nielsen.

TBS' baseball playoffs coverage accounted for seven of the top 10 most watched shows for the week, led by the Oct. 6 Tigers-Yankees game 5 telecast, which drew 9.7 million viewers.
