TCA 2018: Acorn TV To Launch Scripted Series ‘Girlfriends’ In January

Acorn TV will launch its original comedy series Girlfriends on Jan. 29, the streaming service announced during its inaugural Television Critics Association press tour session.

The Kay Mellor-created Girlfriends stars Phyllis Logan, Miranda Richardson and Zoe Wanamaker as three friends struggling with the responsibilities that come with being a modern woman of a certain age, said the British TV-based SVOD service.

The service also announced the launch of Irish legal drama series Striking Out on St. Patrick’s Day.
