Turner Classic Movies said it's hosting its first TCM Classic Film Festival, in Hollywood, next April.

The Time Warner Inc.-owned commercial-free movie network said the festival will take place April 22-25 and scheduled events include a newly restored A Star Is Born, from 1954, at an opening night red carpet gala. A new restoration of Metropolis (1927) will have its North American premiere and Stanley Kubrick's 2001: A Space Odyssey will be presented with Oscar-winning visual effects artist Douglas Trumbull.

Venues will be Grauman's Chinese Theater, The Egyptian Theatre and the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.
