TCM Sets Taylor Tribute


Turner Classic Movies will devote its April 10 schedule to movies starring iconic actress Elizabeth Taylor, who died Wednesday morning.

As part of its day-long tribute to Taylor, who past away at the age of 79, the network will air her two Oscar-winning films Butterfield and Who's Afraid Of Virginia Woolf?, the network said.


TCM's tribute will also feature Taylor in such memorable films as the family classics Lassie Come Home and National Velvet ; comedies Father of the Bride and Father's Little Dividend; the historical epic Ivanhoe; dramas Giant, Raintree County and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof; and her first adult role in Conspirator.

In addition to TCM's on-air tribute to Taylor, the 2011 TCM Classic Film Festival - which runs April 28-May 1 in Hollywood -- will feature a special 60th anniversary screening of Taylor's 1951 film A Place in the Sun.
