TCM To Honor Doris Day with June Movie Marathon

TCM will celebrate the life and career of actress Doris Day with a full day marathon of her most iconic on screen performances.

TCM on June 9 will offer a 24-hour, 13-film tribute to the actress and singer who died today (May 13) of pneumonia at the age of 97. Movies starring Day that are part of the marathon include Romance on the High Seas, Tea For Two, Love Me Or Leave Me, Please Don’t Eat The Daisies, Pillow Talk and Move Over Darling, according to the network.

Day, who starred in 39 feature films and earned an Academy Award nomination for her work in Pillow Talk, had a lifelong love of pets and founded the Doris Day Animal Foundation in 1978, according to TCM. 

Weigel Broadcasting's Decades TV also plans a Doris Day salute. Starting Saturday, May 25, at 1 p.m. ET, Decades will air 68 episodes of her 1960s sitcom The Doris Day Show, showing them back to back through Monday, May 27 at 7 a.m.

Also, Decades TV Network will honor the life and career of Day with a weekend binge of 68 episodes of The Doris Day Show beginning May 25, according to the digital broadcast network.
