TechTV Touts Self as Holiday Destination

TechTV this week began a month of holiday-oriented programming and promotions
designed to make it "the holiday destination."

On the promotion front, TechTV is partnering with Expedia Inc.'s Expedia.com
(http://www.expedia.com/Default.asp)
and Best Buy Co. Inc. From Dec. 9 through 13, it will run a $1,000-per-day
giveaway in conjunction with Best Buy, which will also be involved in a system
giveaway Dec. 23 and 24.

"The Expedia Giveaway," due Dec. 16 through 20, will give viewers a chance to
win five trips to five different destinations.

TechTV's Top 20 Gifts, a half-hour special that bowed Monday, will be
rerun often throughout the month.

As a follow-up to all the gift-giving and getting, the network will at noon
Dec. 26 start a 30-hour "Call for Help-a-Thon," during which its experts will
help viewers to set up their DVD players and other consumer-electronics
wares.

In other programming stunts due this month, TechTV said it will air TechTV
Presents: Under the Hood of BMW Films
, focusing on the celebrities in BMW's
online mini-films, Friday, Dec. 6, at 10 p.m.; The Thunderbirds series
marathon Dec. 25 from 1 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and the Max Headroom series
marathon Jan. 1 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
