Ted Rogers Hospitalized With Heart Condition

Ted Rogers, the chief executive officer of Rogers Communications, one of Canada's largest telecommunications providers, has been hospitalized for treatment of a pre-existing heart condition, company officials said Friday.

During his treatment and recovery, chairman Alan Horn will serve as acting CEO.

The length of his leave will be determined by his medical progress, according to a statement issued by the company.

Rogers delivers cable television, high-speed Internet access, telephony and wireless services. Its other businesses include radio and television broadcasting, televised shopping, publishing and sports entertainment, including ownership of the Toronto Blue Jays Major League Baseball team.
