Telemundo and broadcast network NBC will air a series of Saturday-afternoon
boxing cards as part of a unique programming and marketing agreement.

For three straight weeks beginning May 3, Telemundo will air a live one-hour
block of boxing as a prelude to NBC's 90-minute broadcast -- both of which will
originate from the same boxing cards, promoted by Main Events Inc. --
representatives from both parties said.

While NBC and Telemundo would not reveal the names of boxers who could appear
on the telecasts, NBC Sports vice president of new business development Kevin
Monaghan said the shows -- particularly with regard to Telemundo -- will
primarily feature up-and-coming Mexican-American fighters.

The deal marks the first time a network has televised a live boxing series
since Fox aired a short-lived effort in 1996.

The business relationship also calls for NBC Sports, Telemundo and Main
Events to enter into a venture that includes integrated sales and sponsorship
opportunities; extensive cross-promotions; combined television production;
shared broadcast/fight-promotion costs; and revenue sharing, although specific
terms were not disclosed.
