Telemundo Now Hits the Apple TV

NBCUniversal said it has launched the Telemundo Now app for Apple TV, offering access to full seasons, current and past episodes, clips and other programming from the Spanish-language network.

Telemundo Now, an authenticated TV Everywhere app, joins other apps from the NBCU to extend a bridge to Apple, TV, including NBC, USA, Bravo, E!, Syfy, NBCSN and CNBC. NBCUniversal said its TVE effort has seen double digit year-over-year growth in streaming across its portfolio.

Telemundo Now is also offered on other platforms that include iOS and Android mobile devices, Web browers, Windows, Roku players, the Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

“We are thrilled to bring Telemundo to Apple TV,” said Dina Juliano, NBCU’s VP of consumer product strategy, content distribution, “This expansion of our TV Everywhere portfolio will give audiences a new opportunity to engage with the network and its innovative content, anytime and anywhere.”

NBCU is also part of a group that includes CTAM and Adobe that is backing an industry effort to build a ‘universal’ TV Everywhere sign-in platform/standard for in-home and out-of-home access. Apple is also pushing ahead with a single sign-in platform for TVE apps that will debut this fall.
