Cox Business Services said its commercial-customer base was up nearly 28% at the end of the third quarter versus the year-ago period.
Cox Communications’ commercial broadband and telecommunications division cited greater availability of telephone service to business customers for the uptick.
“Through Cox Business Services, we have proven successful in using one network to deliver advanced communications services to entire communities: residential and commercial," Cox Communications chief financial officer John Dyer said in a prepared statement.
"Time and time again, our customers tell us that the level of service and reliability we provide cannot be found with any other provider,” he added. “For these reasons, Cox Business Services remains on track to reach $1 billion in revenue in 2010.”
