The Tennis Channel is now playing distribution doubles with Insight Communications Co. Inc. in Louisville, Ky.
The launch, which began on Insight’s digital tier Nov. 13, marked the first for the fledgling sports service with the nation’s ninth-largest cable operator.
Under the 10-year agreement, terms of which were not disclosed, Tennis will eventually be served to all of the MSO’s systems.
Elsewhere, Tennis is scheduled to become part of Time Warner Cable of New York and New Jersey’s sports tier Nov. 19. The racquet-sports proponent will be joined by NBA TV, extreme-sports network Fuel and a trio of Fox Sports Digital Networks: Fox Sports Atlantic, Fox Sports Central and Fox Sports Pacific.
The local operation -- which will charge $3.95 for the tier -- is available to about 600,000 digital customers in the New York DMA.
