Tennis Channel is presenting coverage of its 10th Grand Slam tournament before upward of 50 million homes.
In what has become a rite of spring since it began televising the French Open in 2007, Tennis Channel is offering a free view to its affiliate base.
The network -- which will present some 77 hours of live match play from the sport's second major of the season and 140 hours of studio show French Open Tonight, including 42 first-run hours from in and around Roland Garros and Paris -- has lined up expanded distribution for the fortnight with cable, satellite and telco video providers.
Tennis will gain full distribution on DirecTV and Dish Network, according to network officials, over the two weeks. It will also secure wider berths on Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Bright House Networks, Cox, Suddenlink, Insight and RCN. It also is picking up additional carriage on Verizon FiOS during its French Open coverage, which begins on May 23 from 5 a.m. to noon (ET).
