The Tennis Channel has netted deals with Adelphia Communications Corp., Qwest Communications International Inc., Time Warner Cable and Cox Communications Inc. to expand its customer count in markets such as Los Angeles; Denver; Miami; Washington, D.C.; Phoenix; and San Juan, Puerto Rico.
The network launched Monday on Cox in Fredericksburg and Fairfax County, Va., in the Washington DMA. Residents of Berlin, N.H., also began receiving Tennis on Time Warner Monday.
Adelphia launched the network Saturday in South Dade, Fla., just outside of Miami, and in San Juan. Davidson Cable Co. subscribers on Hilton Head Island, S.C., also gained access to Tennis May 1.
Qwest added the network in Highlands Ranch, Colo., and Phoenix April 30. And Adelphia is carrying it in six Los Angeles-area cities: Camarillo, Oxnard, Ojai, Santa Paula/Fillmore, Agoura Hills/Westlake and Oak Park.
