ThinkAnalytics Expands Its Horizons

Believes Its Hosted Video Recommendation System Will Widen Its Addressable Market

Hoping to broaden its addressable market for video search and recommendations, ThinkAnalytics said it has expanded the capabilities of ThinkCloud, its hosted platform for service providers and programmers.

ThinkCloud is an out-of-the-box, software-as-a-service solution that complements the company’s premise-based platform for larger service providers that prefer to host those capabilities on their own video and IT infrastructures.

Although the hosted version offers all the same capabilities as the premise-based platform, ThinkCloud offers an option for service providers and programmers that would rather offload that work or don’t have the internal resources to do it all on their own, explained Christy Martin, the company’s recently named chief technical advisor.

ThinkAnalytics said three new, but yet unnamed European providers are already on board with ThinkCloud, which has been integrated with the vendor’s ThinkTV, ThinkSports, ThinkMovies metadata libraries, and other metadata provider partners.

The company is also starting to work with North American cable operators with the expanded hosted approach, Martin said.

ThinkAnalytics’ recommendation engine is designed to run on set-tops as well as connected/mobile devise, including tablets and smartphones.

Its announced customers include Cox Communications, Fox, Liberty Global, BSkyB, Swisscom, Unitymedia in Germany, Zon in Portugal, and Nordic operator Canal Digital. ThinkAnalytics said its customer base now includes more than 50 companies that serve north of 130 million licensed subscribers.
