TI Powers Up IP Phones via Ethernet
Texas Instruments Inc. Monday introduced a new integrated-circuit controller and what it called the industry's first power-over-Ethernet plug-in power module.
The vendor said its “TPS2375” reduces design time and eases implementation of Ethernet-powered industrial and commercial devices such as wide-area-network and local-area-network access points, Internet-protocol phones, security and point of-sale systems.
TI added that its “PTB48540” requires only a small external power-over-Ethernet isolation transformer to provide a complete power solution.
TI said both products are currently available.
