Time Warner Cable has picked Albany, N.Y., as the future site of its Northeast Sales Operations Center and plans to hire at least 50 new employees and relocate more than 135 professional positions to the area from across its Northeast footprint.

Time Warner Cable has signed a long-term lease for an 85,000-square-foot building at 337 New Karner Road in Colonie, N.Y. The lease of the vacant structure, along with extensive renovation plans. will result in an economic investment of more than $10 million.

The 50 new positions include sales, administrative, information technology and human resources professionals to support the operation. The company expects the new center to be operational later this year, with full transition finalized by early 2012, eventually employing more than 400 people.
