Time Warner Cable, ESPN Send Sweepstakes Winner To Rose Bowl


Marilyn Wray will be in the house, when Joe Pa and Pete Carroll’s teams square off in the “granddaddy of them all” on New Year’s Day.

Wray is the winner of the “Time Warner College Football Sweepstakes,” giving the Union City, Ind. resident a seat at the Rose Bowl battle in Pasadena, Calif. between PennState and USC on New Year’s Day.

Disney and ESPN Media Networks partnered with Time Warner Cable to promote the game in high-definition on the operator’s free HD service.The sweepstakes was backed by multifaceted campaign featuring an on-air and online promotion throughout the month November.

Wray was the Time Warner customer winner and is headed to the game in style with a once in a lifetime VIP package, including roundtrip air; accommodations at the Four Seasons in Beverly Hills; entry to a New Year's Eve party at the House of Blues featuring Snoop Dogg; access to the Rose Bowl Parade and tailgate event; plus tickets to the game, televised on ABC.

Time Warner Cable supported the promotion via cross channel spots that ran during the last two weeks of November across its entire footprint.

Additionally, banner ads touting the program ran on timewarnercable.com divisional Web sites. A Rose Bowl email initiative, targeting extant Time Warner Cable- Road Runner subscribers, generated an open rate of 40%, according to ESPN officials.
