Time Warner Cable Expands VOD In SoCal

Time Warner Cable has placed an order for more than $2 million of video-on-demand equipment from Concurrent Computer for the MSO’s San Diego and Los Angeles markets where the operator is planning to launch its popular Start Over service.

Concurrent disclosed the deal Wednesday in an 8-K filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

The VOD vendor said that as a result of being selected as Time Warner Cable's video-on-demand supplier for these markets, it anticipates the operator buying additional VOD products for the fiscal year that ends June 30, 2009.

Concurrent already supplies VOD equipment to other Time Warner Cable divisions, including Hawaii and the Carolinas.
