Time Warner Cable Names Higgins To Regional Post

Time Warner Cable has hired former Charter Communications executive John Higgins as area vice president for its Northeast Ohio and Western Pennsylvania division.

Higgins, who has 16 years experience in the telecommunications industry, previously served as vice president and general manager of Charter Communications, based in its St. Louis headquarters. In his new role, Higgins will oversee about 2,500 em[loyees within Time Warner Cable's third largest division.

"John brings a diverse background in operations both in the field and at the corporate level, including customer care, sales, retention and government affairs," said Time Warner Cable president of regional services for the Midwest Rhonda Fraas in a statement. "In addition, he is a strong leader and has a track record of successfully leading teams that improve operating metrics, which is the measure of how well we are serving our customers. He is passionate about serving customers and delivering high quality service experiences."
Higgins began his career in politics during a college internship with the New York State Legislature. He later served as chief of staff for Assembly Member Steven Sanders. In addition, he's held management positions with TCI, AT&T Broadband and the Cable Telecommunication Association of New York.
Originally from Oneonta, N.Y., Higgins, his wife, and five sons will make their new home in the Akron area.
