Time Warner Cable Promotes Gillman to Executive Vice President

Time Warner Cable said late Monday that it promoted Joan Gillman to executive vice president and president of media sales. Gillman had previously served as senior vice president and president of media sales.

Gillman will continue to be based in New York City and report to Landel Hobbs, Time Warner Cable’s Chief Operating Officer.

“Joan has taken on a leadership role in helping evolve cable advertising to better meet the needs of marketers in the digital age,” Hobbs said. “We look forward to her continued guidance as she spearheads our efforts to make cable the platform of choice for advanced advertising.”

Before assuming her current role, Gillman was the vice president of interactive TV and advanced advertising at Time Warner Cable and was responsible for the development and deployment of new interactive and advertising products and services.

Prior to joining Time Warner Cable, Gillman served as president of a subsidiary of OpenTV, where she was responsible for the Playjam games channel and the production of interactive TV channels and applications for OpenTV clients.

Gillman has also worked in the United Kingdom for British Interactive Broadcasting, an iTV joint venture between BSkyB, British Telecom, Matsushita and HSBC. There she oversaw the business development, legal and regulatory teams.

She entered the interactive industry in 1995 as vice president of marketing for Physicians’ Online, a healthcare ISP.   Each of these positions included aspects of designing, selling, deploying and/or supporting new interactive/digital advertising products.
