Time Warner Cable has deployed OpVista Inc.’s “MetroVista 2000” optical system at 12 sites in Waco, Texas, and the surrounding region, the vendor said Monday.
The MetroVista 2000 is helping the MSO to deliver digital video; high-speed local-area-network and Internet data; voice; and legacy asynchronous transfer mode on a single fiber pair.
MetroVista consolidates multiple formats and delivers up to 800 gigabits per second on a single fiber.
“The network in Waco is an ideal venue for demonstrating the exceptional range of capabilities of the MetroVista product,” OpVista vice president of marketing and sales Ron Foster said in a prepared statement. “This is a large-scale, fully converged regional network carrying six different protocols supporting voice, data and video.”
