Austin, Texas-Time Warner Cable increased its commitment to BroadJump Inc., saying it will license an additional 1 million copies of the company's "Virtual Truck Installer" for cable-modem deployments.
Road Runner, Time Warner Cable's high-speed access division, will rebrand the software "Road Runner Connect" and deploy it across the country. "We have seen increased installation numbers, decreased costs and satisfied customers" from using BroadJump software, vice president of Road Runner operations Bo Coughlin said .Time Warner began using BroadJump's software in Los Angeles, Houston and Austin, Texas, in July 1999, eventually expanding its use to 24 divisions. The software lets customers choose between a self-installation or a technician-assisted procedure. In either case, costs are lowered and installation times reduced.
