Time Warner Rings Up Campbell

Time Warner Cable is beefing up its telephony-management team in preparation
for launching Internet-protocol-telephony service later this year.

The MSO named Gerry Campbell as senior vice president, voice, reporting to
Christopher Bogart, president of Time Warner Cable Ventures.

TWC has been testing IP telephony in Portland, Maine, and its success has
drawn the attention of AOL Time Warner Inc. chief operating officer Robert
Pittman, who often refers to the second-telephone-line experiment in Portland in
remarks to analysts.

In a statement, Bogart said Campbell 'will work closely with Rick Davies and
Jeff King as they manage the operational and technical implementation of VoIP,
with Brian Kelly on our marketing plans for voice, with Satish Adige on the
business-affairs aspects of our launches.'

Campbell was a senior regional vice president at Comcast Cable Communications
Inc. and he had run Comcast's U.K. operation, Time Warner
said.
