Time Warner Cable of New York City subscribers will enjoy karaoke and other exclusive content on-demand from Oxygen beginning Thursday as part of a long-term carriage deal between the distaff network and the MSO.
As part of its on-demand launch, Oxygen will bow original movie Romancing the Bride on Time Warner’s on-demand service one week before it airs on Oxygen, network executives said.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the deal completes the distribution of the network’s on-demand content throughout the MSO’s national footprint, said Mary G. Murano, executive vice president of affiliate sales for Oxygen.
Time Warner New York will launch 15 hours of Oxygen VOD programming, including original programming from its parents-targeted “Oh! Baby” VOD network, as well as 80 sing-along songs from its recently launched “Air Karaoke” VOD channel.
Overall, Oxygen’s VOD service is available to 12 million subscribers in several MSOs including Comcast Corp. and Adelphia Communications Corp.
Romancing the Bride, starring Laura Prepon (That 70s Show),will be available to Time Warner subscribers via Oxygen On Demand Nov. 25-Dec. 1 before premiering on Oxygen Dec. 3, Murano said.
