Time Warner, Univision To Feature World Cup Action On Demand

Time Warner Cable's digital customers are going to be able to demand Univision's presentation of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

The nation's No. 2 cable operator and Univision Communications are teaming to make Spanish-language match coverage from the upcoming futbol tourney accessible through Lo Mejor On Demand.

Time Warner Digital Cable's first Hispanic free on channel will house original Spanish-language content from the top Hispanic networks. Matches, from the tourney which kicks off with the host nation South Africa playing Mexico on on June 11 and extends through the final on July 11, will be available on demand from June 12 to August 11.

Lo Mejor On Demand is available at no extra cost to the operator's digital customers in Los Angeles, San Diego, Texas, New York City, the Carolinas and its North East regions.

Univision's Spanish-language airing of all 64 2010 FIFA World Cup games will be available in high-definition on LMOD 24 hours after they air and for a month after the final match Additional programming on LMOD includes Univision, TeleFutura and Galávision programs like El Show de Cristina, Escándalo TV, Sábado Gigante, Sólo Boxeo, República Deportiva, and Nuestra Belleza Latina.

To honor Hispanics love for soccer, Time Warner Cable Deportes and Univision will bring Sabado Gigante to The Home Depot Center Tennis Stadium in Los Angeles on May 14.
