Time Warner Cable inked a deal to deploy Billserv Inc.'s electronic billing
system in seven of the MSO's divisions. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Time Warner systems included in the deal are Columbia, S.C.; Milwaukee and
Green Bay, Wis.; Los Angeles; Houston; and Raleigh and Greensboro, N.C. Those
markets reach an aggregate 2.75 million subscribers, the companies said.
Time Warner, the No. 2 domestic MSO, has more than 12.7 million
Billserv said each operator can select a specific billing model, including an
option that allows customers to view and pay their bills online.
In January, Billserv became the MSO's 'preferred' electronic billing
provider, essentially giving the vendor a hunting license to approach Time
Warner Cable divisions about potential deals.
Billserv's preferred status is not exclusive. The MSO's other billing
partners are Convergys Corp., DST Innovis Inc. and CSG Systems International
