TiVo Adds Subscribers, Net Loss Up

TiVo Inc. boosted its subscriber total in the third quarter, but the digital-video-recorder vendor paid the price.

The company said Monday that it lost $26.4 million, or 33 cents per share, on revenue of $38.3 million during the period.

TiVo added about 419,000 subscriptions, more than double third-quarter-2003 additions, bringing its total subscriber base to 2.3 million from about 1 million at the end of the year-ago period.
