TNT Tuesday announced it has greenlit anew medical drama series produced by David E. Kelley.
The drama network has ordered 10 episodes for Monday
Mornings, based on a book by CNN chief medical
correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta, that stars Ving
Rhames (Pulp Fiction), Alfred Molina (Spider-Man 2,),
Jamie Bamber (Battlestar Galactica), Jennifer Finnigan
(Better With You), Bill Irwin (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation),
Keong Sim (Glee), Sarayu Rao (Lions for Lambs)
and Emily Swallow (Southland).
Monday Mornings follows the lives of doctors as they
come to terms with their strengths and failings, according
to TNT. The title refers to the hospital’s weekly
“morbidity and mortality conference” where doctors
and staff review complications and errors in patient
“Monday Mornings is a superb drama brought to life
with passion by a gifted ensemble cast and some of the
best creative minds working in television today,” Michael
Wright, president/head of programming for TNT, TBS
and Turner Classic Movies (TCM) in a statement. “David,
Sanjay and their team have given us an outstanding
addition to TNT’s stable of high-profile dramas, and we’re
very proud to have it on the network.”
Kelley’s previous series include medical serie Chicago
Hope and law drama Ally McBeal.
