TNT Orders Lawyer Series 'Franklin & Bash'

TNT has greenlit barrister buddy series Franklin & Bash for production.
The drama network has ordered 10 episodes of the show, starring Mark-Paul Gosselaar (NYPD Blue, TNT's Raising the Bar) and Breckin Meyer (Heroes), and is eyeing a summer 2011 debut for the series produced by Four Sycamore Productions, Left Coast Productions and FanFare Productions in association Sony Pictures Television.
In Franklin & Bash, two fly-by-the-seat-of-their-pants street lawyers cause a culture clash when they join a legendary, button-down law firm. Meyer plays Jared Franklin, who has a knack for connecting with jury and judge, while Gosselaar's Steven Bash loves sticking it to authority every chance he gets.
"Franklin & Bash is a hugely entertaining, smart and funny take on the legal procedural," said Michael Wright, executive vice president, head of programming, for TNT, TBS and Turner Classic Movies in announcing the pick-up. "After viewing the outstanding pilot, we realized that its emphasis on quirky, likeable characters and solid procedural structure make it an ideal addition to our current lineup of series on TNT."
The show is executive-produced by Jamie Tarses (TNT's HawthoRNe, TBS's My Boys), Kevin Falls (Shark, The West Wing) and Bill Chais (Shark,Dirty Sexy Money). Falls and Chais wrote the pilot.

TNT and sister service TBS will hold their upfront presentation for advertisers in Manhattan on May 19.
