TNT, on the strength of its National Basketball Association post-season coverage, ran a fast break past USA Network to score a ratings win last week.
The drama network averaged 3.2 million viewers for the week of April 26 to May 10, ending USA Network's six-week winning streak, according to a Disney-ABC Television analysis of Nielsen data. USA finished second with 3.1 million viewers, followed by kids-targeted Disney Channel's 2.2 million viewers and adult-skewing Nick At Nite, which averaged 1.9 million viewers for the week.
History was the week's fifth most-watched cable network, averaging 1.7 million viewers, while Fox News occupied the sixth-place slot with 1.67 million viewers.
TBS (1.5 million viewers), Cartoon Network (1.3 million), ESPN (1.2 million) and Discovery Channel (1.2 million) rounded out the top 10.
TNT and ESPN's NBA Playoffs coverage was the most watched programming for the week among all major adult age demographics except for young 18 to 34 year-old adults, who preferred the April 28 episode of Comedy Central's South Park over hoops coverage.
