Turner Network Television and USA Network tied for first in the primetime-ratings race last week, finishing just ahead of Nickelodeon.
The drama network and USA both averaged a 2.1 Jan. 26-Feb. 1, according to an ABC Cable Networks Group analysis of Nielsen Media Research data, while the kids’ kingpin notched a 2.0.
Lifetime Television was fourth with a 1.7, TBS Superstation fifth with a 1.6 and Disney Channel sixth at a 1.5. Cartoon Network was seventh with a 1.3. MTV: Music Television, A&E Network and Fox News Channel rounded out the top 10, each with a 1.2 mark.
Gauged on a total-day basis, Nick was a runaway first with a 1.7. TNT and Disney were knotted in second with a 1.2 apiece. Lifetime was next at a 1.1, while Cartoon, TBS and USA each posted a 1.0.
As for the top shows, USA’s quirky detective drama, Monk, ranked No. 1, garnering a 4.7 Jan. 30. MTV’s The Real World installment Jan. 27 was second with a 4.2.
Spike TV’s coverage of World Wrestling Entertainment Inc. fare, installments of Nick’s SpongeBob SquarePantsand Fairly OddParents, TNT’s Law & Order and Discovery Channel’s American Chopper rounded out the top 10 shows, according to the ABC Cable Networks Group analysis.
