‘Tosh.0' Advances to 3d

Comedy Central has renewed Daniel Tosh's series Tosh.0.

The network said the third season will have at least 29 half-hour episodes and premiere Jan. 12. New episodes of the Web-humor-based series return June 2 at 10:30 p.m.: nine of 25 shows in the current season have aired so far.

Comedy Central said the series has risen in the ratings in target demos since the first season, with such comparisons as an 83% bump in all viewers ages 18-49 and an 85% spike in men ages 18-34 in season 2. It's averaging 1.8 million total viewers in the current skein. It also has a new executive producer, Charlie Siskel.

Tosh, whose series premiered in June 2009, has inked a multi-level deal with Comedy Central to shoot an original one-hour stand-up special which will air in the fourth quarter, to be released with extended material on DVD and CD. He will also embark on a national stand-up tour which will kick-off in the fall. He hosted the network's Live at Gotham stand-up series and performed on Premium Blend and Friday Night Stand-Up.
