Chantilly, Va.— The Women in Cable & Telecommunications Foundation has named Cathy Traczek as the 2005 winner of the Bernice Coe Award.
Traczek, director of operations for Comcast Corp. in Chicago, will receive the Bernice Coe Award during the WICT executive member reception April 3 at the National Show in San Francisco.
The award — presented by Oxygen Media, Multichannel News and WICT in honor of the first woman to head an independent-film distribution company and a mentor to many of the cable industry’s female leaders — covers all travel, lodging and registration expenses for the WICT Forum 2005, which will be held May 11 to 13 in New York as part of the “Spring Cable Week” created by the women’s group’s partnership with Cable Positive.
WICT also announced a trio of fellowship winners: Suzanne Altshuler, point-of-sale manager for Starz Entertainment Group in Philadelphia, for the 2005 Cheryl Green Fellowship; Jacqueline Hillsbery, financial analyst for Comcast in Beaverton, Ore., for the Lucille Larkin Fellowship; and Gena Nason, manager, marketing on demand of NBC Universal in Burbank, Calif., for the June Travis Fellowship.
The Lucille Larkin Fellowship and the Cheryl Greene Fellowship award the recipient one full registration to the WICT Forum. The June Travis Fellowship provides full registration and most travel expenses to the WICT Forum.
