Travel Channel will debut 5 Takes EuropeSaturday, July 23 at 10 p.m. (EST/PST), the network said Wednesday.
The series -- which will air on consecutive Saturdays from 10 p.m.-11 p.m.throughSept. 10 -- will follow five young filmmakers with a $50-per-day budget and a Eurorail pass as they travel around Europe for two months.
The filmmakers will also have “Mini DV” cameras and laptop editing facilities to produce independent short daily Web logs and frequent video logs of their experiences for the network’s Web site (travelchannel.com).
“This series presents travel from the first-hand perspective of young travelers having the freedom to explore a city and its culture however they choose, while bringing those experiences and takes on travel to air,” Travel executive vice president and general manager Pat Younge said in a prepared statement.
