Tribune Media’s Gary Morrison Dies, 42

Gary Morrison, director of account services for Tribune Media Services, died Thursday after suffering injuries from a brain aneurysm during a business-travel flight from Dallas to Chicago on Tuesday, April 8. He was 42.


Morrison, who joined Tribune Media Services a decade ago, served in key positions including account management for the company’s program guide business and, most recently, as head of account services of the company’s marketing services division.


He also held leadership positions on the chapter boards of the cable organizations CTAM Carolinas and WICT Greater Texas. He lived for several years in Atlanta, where his main customer as an account director was the local Comcast operation.


“Gary was a wonderful friend and a trusted colleague,” said Richard Hill, managing director of TMS Marketing Services division. “His positive influence will be greatly missed.”


Morrison was born in Beaumont, Texas, and graduated from Lamar University. He is survived by his wife, Teresa Bauer-Morrison, and two daughters, Zoe Morrison (age 11) and Anastasia Morrison (age 7).


Memorial services will be held Monday, April 14, at 11 a.m. at the Aledo United Methodist Church in Aledo, Texas.
