True Dat: Nick Orders More Of Palmer's 'Jackson' Series

Nickelodeon is bringing back live-action comedy series True Jackson, VP for a sophomore run.
The show centers on 15-year-old actress and singer Keke Palmer, who gets a job as vice president of the youth apparel department of fashion company, Mad Style. There, her character navigates her work, social and love lives with her best friends Lulu (Ashley Argota) and Ryan (Matt Shively).

Nick officials did not indicated when the second season would launch.

During its continuing rookie run, True Jackson has emerged as the No. 2 show on all of TV in 2009 among a raft of kids demos for Nickelodeon on Saturday nights, in its 8:30 p.m. time slot. According to Nick officials, True Jackson, trailing only its lead-in ICarly, ranks second on Saturday night among kids 2 to 11 (1.7 million of those viewers), kids 6 to 11 (1.3 million), tweens 9 to 14 (1.15 millon), kids 6 to 14 (1.7), kids 2 to 5 (394,000) and persons 2+ (4.28 million).
Through its multiple runs, True Jackson cumes some 8 million viewers weekly for Nick, including 1.7 million adults, according to Nielsen Media Research data.

"Keke Palmer is an extraordinarily talented actress who is both relatable and aspirational to her viewers," Nickelodeon executive vice president of development and original programming Marjorie Cohn in a statement. "Her star quality, coupled with a dynamic cast and funny, compelling storytelling, has been a winning combination."
On the telefilm side, Nick will premiere Mr. Troop Mom on June 19 at 8 p.m. The movie stars comedian and Nick at Nite ratings-draw George Lopez, who plays a widower/dad and workaholic lawyer trying to bond with his tween daughter at a camp.
"George Lopez is one of America's funniest, most beloved comedians, and he has the natural ability to connect with people of all ages," noted Cohn in a statement. "His series is an enormous hit on Nick at Nite, and we're honored to expand our relationship with him as both star and executive producer for Mr. Troop Mom."
