Asks supporters to identify 'Fake News Four'

"The Fake News media has clearly gone mad," the Trump/Pence reelection campaign said flatly in an email to supporters Saturday (April 6) that sought their votes on what the campaign tabbed the "Final Fake News Four in a nod to this weekend's Final Four men's basketball semifinals.

The email says those four will be the "four fakest media outlets that helped promote the Nasty Witch Hunt," a reference to special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian election meddling.

As is the case with the re-election campaign's other e-mail attacks on the press, the question was a leading one since it presupposes the investigation was a witch hunt: "Which outlets do you believe did the WORST job covering the Mueller Witch Hunt? (Please select only 4)," is the survey's single question.

The options: ABC News, CBS News, CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, NBC NEws, The New york Times, The Washington Post and "other."

"Outlets like CNN, MSNBC, The New York Times, and The Washington Post have published THOUSANDS of stories alleging conspiracy theories that were proven to be completely FALSE," the e-mail alleges.

"The mainstream media has lost ALL credibility. They have proven time and time again that they care only about smearing President Trump instead of reporting the facts," it continued. "A lot of outlets had completely dishonest coverage of the Witch Hunt, but we want to hear which four outlets YOU think stood above the rest as the FAKEST."
