TruTV To Debut Eight New Original Series

In a further effort to orient its programming towards the audience of younger, dual-gendered “fun-seekers” it described during its upfronts presentation this year, truTV plans to debut eight new series beginning next week through early 2015.

The network begins its new programming with Motor City Masters, a car designing competition sponsored by Chevorlet and hosted by Brooke Burns. The series, which debuts Tuesday, June 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, pits 10 car designers against each other as they come up with a new concept car design each episode.

A month after the ten episode order of Motor City Masters debuts, truTV will begin airing Way Out West, a reality series focusing on a family of outfitters from Idaho. Way Out West premieres Monday, July 21 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

On October 27, truTV will debut Fake Off, another reality series in which teams compete in the art of Faking, a combination of theater, acrobatics and illusion. New sketch comedy series Friends of the People debuts the following day, October 28. The network also plans to debut game show Hair Jacked and advice show How to Be a Grown Up during the month of October.

The network also ordered Jokers Wild, a spin-off of its current series Impractical Jokers which premieres Thursday, September 25 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

In addition to the eight new series planned to premiere in the coming months, truTV announced it has more than 30 projects currently in development as part of its brand restructuring.

The network will also continue to air new episodes of current series Impractical Jokers and The Carbonaro Effect
