truTV To Screen Scripted Comedy At NYTVF

TruTV will screen the first two episodes of its upcoming scripted comedy Those Who Can’t in October at the New York Television Festival, officials said Thursday.

The festival will provide its exclusive look at the series – which follows three dysfunctional high school teachers – Oct. 20 at the SVA Theatre in New York, said officials. Those Who Can't will debut on the channel in 2016.

Series creators Ben Roy, Adam Cayton-Holland and Andrew Orvedahl will also be featured in a post-screening discussion along with co-star Maria Thayer (Eagleheart) and executive producer/showrunner Dean Lorey (Arrested DevelopmentThe Crazy Ones).

The screening is part of a larger partnership between truTV and NYTVF which includes the previously-announced truTV Greenlight Award, which identifies and outstanding comedy project from among the Festival's 2015 Official Artists.
