Turner Broadcasting said it has promoted John Harran and Michael Quigley, execs at Turner Network Sales (TNS), the programmer’s domestic distribution, sales and marketing arm.
John Harran has been named to the new role of SVP of business & product development, up from VP of business development & multi-platform distribution, while Michael Quigley has been elevated to SVP of brand distribution, up from VP, business development & multi-platform distribution.
Harran and Quigley report to Jennifer Mirgorod, EVP of brand distribution.
In his new role, Harran will head up distribution strategy for Turner’s TV Everywhere initiative, including securing partnerships and revenue opportunities across IP delivery platforms and device manufacturers such as Google/YouTube, Apple, and Sony. He will also explore distribution for Turner content with partners in the electronic sell-through, subscription VOD, and over-the-top sectors, and help develop and distribute advanced product opportunities, such as March Madness Live and CNN GO across Turner’s portfolio of networks and brands.
Quigley, meanwhile, will oversee all account management responsibilities and strategic content distribution initiatives with major linear affiliate partners such as Comcast, Cablevision Systems, Verizon Communications and Bright House Networks. He’ll be tasked with identifying revenue-generating content opportunities for the Turner brands with MVPD partners, including developing and launching product enhancements, expanding linear and on-demand content distribution, expanding marketing opportunities and assisting in deal renewals and contract negotiations.
